CA Exam Reschedule: ICAI Adjusts Dates for Jammu Students

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has rescheduled parts of its September 2025 CA exams due to floods in Jammu and Punjab, bringing relief to thousands of students. The CA Final Paper 1 (Financial Reporting) moves to September 24, and the CA Intermediate Paper 1 (Advanced Accounting) to September 25. ICAI President Saikat Mazumdar said the change is to ensure safety and fair play, with all other details like centers and timings the same. “Student well-being comes first – we’re committed to smooth exams,” Mazumdar noted in a release.

The floods hit hard in Jammu, disrupting prep for candidates in Udhampur and Kathua, with roads closed and power out. The CA Foundation session started on September 16 as planned, but the delay for higher papers gives breathing room. Over 10,000 students in Jammu division were affected, many juggling coaching with flood recovery. Urban aspirants in Jammu city welcomed the news, while rural ones in Reasi said it helps focus without worry.

ICAI stressed exams will go ahead even if the new dates fall on holidays, per rules. The board’s helpline is open for queries, and the website has updates. This move shows ICAI’s responsiveness, a plus for students facing tough times. With Navratri on, the extra days mean more study time before the big tests. If you’re a CA hopeful, use it wisely – the road to chartered status just got a fairer shot.
