Jammu University launched its 1st semester exams for BA, BCom, BBA, and BCA programs today, with over 15,000 students appearing at 25 centers across Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, and Reasi.

The exams, running from October 9 to November 5, began with BA History and BCom Economics papers at 10 AM, under tight security with 200 CCTV cameras and police patrols. Controller of Examinations Prof. Anshul Hotchandani reported a 96% attendance rate, crediting digital answer sheets for streamlined evaluation. “No disruptions; centers are accessible despite recent rains,” she said at a 1 PM review.
The date sheet, released October 7, extended fee deadlines to October 12 post-floods, ensuring inclusivity for students from flood-hit areas like Mishriwala. Over 2,000 tribal students from Rajouri and Poonch benefited from subsidized transport to centers. Women candidates, comprising 45% of examinees, accessed dedicated helpdesks. Practical exams follow from November 6, with results expected by mid-December. Student leader Priya Sharma, 20, from a Jammu girls’ college, said: “Navratri prep didn’t stop us; online portals eased stress.” Updates available at coeju.com or 0191-2435248.
