J&K LG Manoj Sinha Dismisses Two Government Teachers for Terror Links: Zero Tolerance in Action

Jammu, October 30, 2025 – In a decisive strike against terror infiltration in public service, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today dismissed two government teachers from their posts under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, citing their alleged involvement in activities threatening national security. The terminations, effective immediately, target Ghulam Hussain from the Education Department in Reasi district and Majid Iqbal Dar, a teacher and former lab assistant in Rajouri, both accused of aiding Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operations as overground workers (OGWs).

The move, announced this afternoon around 2 PM via an official order from Raj Bhavan, underscores the administration’s zero-tolerance policy, with Sinha stating in a statement: “Those who aid or abet terrorism in any form, including by creating false narratives, are enemies of peace and progress.” Hussain, 42, allegedly maintained direct links with LeT handlers, facilitating recruitment and funding for new militants in Reasi, based on intelligence intercepts from 2024. Dar, 38, faces charges of narco-terrorism – radicalizing youth and funneling drug money to IED plots in Rajouri, continuing subversive acts even during his 2023 detention, per ACB and SIA probes. Both dismissals bypass departmental inquiries, a provision used 75 times since 2019 to purge 75 employees linked to terror groups like LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen.

This is the latest in a string of actions: Just last week, a pharmacist and another teacher were sacked for similar LeT ties, bringing the total to 75 since Sinha’s 2020 appointment. The army and police, empowered under the policy, have neutralized 13 militants in Kashmir this month alone, with infiltration bids up 25% amid PoK unrest (nine dead in protests last week over 38 demands).
