KATHUA, September 19, 2026 – In a major breakthrough against cross-border espionage, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a 24-year-old truck driver in Kathua for allegedly supplying highly sensitive information and surveillance footage to a Pakistan-based intelligence agency. The accused, identified as Aman, was reportedly honey-trapped by foreign handlers before being coerced into conducting reconnaissance of critical military installations in the region. According to official sources, Aman systematically gathered photographs and strategic information under the direct instructions of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), engaging in espionage and other subversive activities aimed at compromising national security.
The investigation revealed that as part of his assigned tasks, the accused had installed a specialized, SIM-based CCTV camera outside his residence specifically to monitor vehicular movement along a crucial road near the International Border. Investigators disclosed that Aman received a financial payment of ₹20,000 from his cross-border handlers to procure and set up the surveillance equipment. The camera was actively used to capture continuous footage of the border road, which was then securely transmitted to the Pakistan-based agency. Following credible intelligence inputs regarding his activities, the local police swiftly moved to apprehend the suspect, thoroughly seizing his mobile phone and other electronic devices for further forensic analysis.
