SRINAGAR, October 28, 2026 – Marking the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo administered the Integrity Pledge to Administrative Secretaries, officers, and officials at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar on Tuesday.
Observed this year under the theme ‘Probity for Prosperity’, the Vigilance Awareness Week spans from October 26 to November 1. During the ceremony, the Chief Secretary led public servants in reaffirming their collective commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, honesty, and professional ethics while discharging their official duties.
The pledge underscored the pressing need for a united front involving the government, citizens, and private institutions to combat corruption, which remains a significant hurdle to the nation’s economic, social, and political progress. It served as a reminder for public servants to remain vigilant and ensure their conduct consistently reflects accountability and a steadfast dedication to public service.
Addressing the gathered officials, Chief Secretary Dulloo emphasized that integrity and transparency must act as the cornerstone of public administration. He stressed the urgent need for all departments to strengthen their internal accountability mechanisms, guarantee transparent service delivery, and prioritize the timely resolution of public grievances.
Reiterating the J&K Government’s unwavering commitment to a “zero-tolerance” policy against corruption, Dulloo directed Administrative Secretaries and departmental heads to proactively review all pending vigilance matters. He instructed them to take swift and appropriate action in strict accordance with established rules and procedures.
“Officers and officials must discharge their responsibilities with absolute honesty and impartiality, uphold the rule of law, and ensure that the public interest remains paramount in every administrative decision,” Dulloo urged during his address.
The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week aims to promote ethical administrative conduct and strengthen public confidence in government institutions. Similar pledge-taking ceremonies and anti-corruption awareness activities are simultaneously being organized across the Union Territory, covering divisional and district headquarters, public sector undertakings, and educational institutions to foster a culture of transparency in public life.
