DC Jammu Dr. Rakesh Minhas Reviews Progress of Mission YUVA, Urges Faster Implementation

JAMMU, September 1, 2026 – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, chaired a comprehensive meeting on Monday to review the progress of ‘Mission YUVA’ across the district. The primary objective of the session was to ensure seamless and effective coordination among all administrative stakeholders and financial institutions for the successful ground-level implementation of the youth empowerment scheme.

The meeting saw the participation of key officials, including Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sher Singh, Sub-divisional Magistrates, Deputy Director of Employment Sunaina Saini, Lead District Manager Ajay Thappa, and representatives from various banking institutions.

During the session, the sub-division wise progress of Mission YUVA was reviewed threadbare. Dr. Minhas stressed that the administrative machinery must work cohesively to ensure the benefits of the scheme percolate down to the maximum eligible population across all corners of the Jammu district.

  • Maximizing Outreach and Awareness: Chairing the session, DC Minhas called upon the officers to multiply their efforts to reach a larger number of eligible applicants. He strongly emphasized the need to generate mass awareness among the youth regarding the scheme’s benefits through various government institutions and local outreach programs.
  • Time-Bound Disposal of Applications: To prevent administrative and financial bottlenecks, the Deputy Commissioner issued strict instructions for regular monitoring of the scheme’s rollout. He specifically directed the concerned authorities and bank representatives to ensure the time-bound disposal of all pending applications.

Mission YUVA is a key government initiative designed to foster youth empowerment, encourage grassroots entrepreneurship, and create sustainable, holistic employment opportunities across the region.
