GCC Summit 2026 at IIM Jammu: From Vision to Execution

I recently attended the GCC Summit 2026 at IIM Jammu, and I believe this is a very important initiative by the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

But let me make one point clear: announcing a policy is the beginning. Its real success lies in execution.

I have three key recommendations.

First, make Jammu the starting point.

The government should focus on establishing GCCs in the Jammu Division first, build a successful model, and then expand further. We already have companies like AccFin Outsourcing, Avisoft and RVA iGlobal operating in Jammu. Their experience, capabilities and industry insights should be actively considered.

Second, strengthen the government-industry connect.

The proposed single point of contact under the GCC policy should be accessible, responsive and flexible. More importantly, this person must understand how the IT industry is evolving in the age of AI. We need someone who understands business realities, not just government procedures.

Third, ensure accountability and timely support.

Whether it is capital expenditure support, operational expenditure assistance or subsidies, businesses need clarity. Approvals and payments should happen on time, with transparent timelines and clear communication if there are delays.

Why does all this matter?

Because GCCs are not just about creating jobs. They can introduce Jammu’s young professionals to corporate culture, global business practices, advanced technology and international career opportunities.

I genuinely want this initiative to succeed. Jammu has talent, and with the right policy execution, industry participation and accountability, we can build a strong GCC ecosystem here.

The question is no longer just whether Jammu can attract GCCs. The question is how effectively we can turn this vision into reality.

What are your views? Can Jammu emerge as a GCC destination in the coming years?
