According to Raghvender Singh, Public Relations Inspector (PRI) for the Jammu Railway Division, the Srinagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Unreserved Special Express (Train No. 04690) will depart from Srinagar at 11:45 AM on both days. En route, the train is scheduled to arrive in Anantnag at 12:55 PM and Banihal at 1:30 PM, before reaching its final destination in Katra at 3:30 PM.

For the return journey, the Katra-Srinagar Unreserved Festival Special Express (Train No. 04689) will depart from the Katra railway station at 4:00 PM on November 5 and 6. The return train will make halts at Banihal at 6:25 PM and Anantnag at 7:00 PM, before finally arriving in Srinagar at 7:45 PM on the same day.

The special train will cover a total distance of 188.7 kilometers and will consist of one DPC-2 coach alongside six TC coaches.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Jammu, Uchit Singhal, stated that the decision was taken in view of the considerable increase in the movement of passengers and devotees traveling between the Kashmir Valley and Katra for the upcoming festivals.

“The railways are fully committed to providing a comfortable and smooth journey to passengers. With this objective, this special unreserved train is being operated so that passengers traveling at the last minute can get a convenient travel experience and reach their destinations without any inconvenience,” Singhal explained.

Railway authorities have explicitly clarified that both trains will operate entirely in the unreserved category. Passengers are required to purchase valid unreserved tickets prior to boarding.
