Priyanka Gandhi’s Office Issues Warning Against Deepfake Investment Scams

NEW DELHI, September 10, 2026 – The office of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra issued a public advisory on Thursday, cautioning citizens against falling prey to fraudulent investment schemes promoted through fake, AI-generated videos. The deceptive videos, which clone her voice and likeness, have been circulating widely across various social media platforms.

1.The Deepfake Modus Operandi:

The scammers are utilizing advanced deepfake technology to create highly realistic simulations of Priyanka Gandhi’s face and voice. According to a formal scam alert issued on her official Instagram handle, these AI-doctored videos are being actively shared on WhatsApp, Instagram, and other social networking sites to lure unsuspecting individuals into parting with their money. The fabricated clips falsely depict the Congress MP endorsing and soliciting funds for unauthorized investment schemes.

2.Official Advisory to Citizens:

In its public warning, Priyanka Gandhi’s office explicitly classified the videos as fraudulent. “Fake videos using AI-generated images and voice of Smt. Piyanka Gandhi Vadra ji are circulating on WhatsApp, Instagram and other social media platforms asking people to invest money. These are scams. Please do not click or invest,” the official statement read. The office strongly urged the public to immediately report and block such misleading posts to relevant authorities to facilitate suitable action.

3.A Growing Threat to Prominent Figures:

This incident highlights a mushrooming trend of cybercriminals exploiting cutting-edge artificial intelligence to target gullible investors. In recent times, deepfake videos featuring unauthorized images of prominent industrialists, including Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, have also surfaced online. These sophisticated facsimile copies are used by fraudsters to lure citizens into financial traps, which has led to significant financial losses for many investors.

Authorities continue to urge netizens to exercise extreme caution and verify the authenticity of financial solicitations before making any digital transactions.
