Teenage Archery Duo Sheetal Devi and Payal Nag Win Silver at Asian Para Games

NAGOYA, October 21, 2026 – The inspiring teenage Indian archery pair of Sheetal Devi and Payal Nag clinched a silver medal in the compound women’s doubles event at the Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old duo put up a determined fight but went down 141-150 against the formidable Chinese pair of Xu Xueqing and Zhao Jing in the gold-medal match. The Indian archers struggled to keep pace with their Chinese opponents after the opening end, playing catch-up for the remainder of the contest.

Their journey to the podium has been nothing short of extraordinary. Sheetal, who was born without arms, shoots with her legs and has become an inspiration worldwide. Her partner, Payal, is a quadruple amputee. Together, the 19-year-old pair has demonstrated incredible resilience and skill on the international stage to secure second place and bring glory to the nation.
