KISHTWAR, November 3, 2026 – Emphasizing the importance of a responsive and accessible administration, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh convened a comprehensive ‘Public Darbar’ in Kishtwar on Monday, providing local residents and public representatives a direct platform to air their grievances and developmental concerns.
During the extensive interaction, the Minister listened to a wide array of public issues primarily concerning local infrastructure, administrative bottlenecks, and the delivery of essential services. Taking immediate cognizance of the public’s concerns, Dr. Singh facilitated the on-the-spot resolution of several pressing issues by directly coordinating with the present administrative staff.
Addressing the gathering and senior officers of the district administration, Dr. Singh directed authorities to meticulously examine the unresolved issues and ensure their time-bound redressal. He stressed that direct interactions with the public empower the administration to better gauge ground-level requirements and respond effectively to the genuine concerns of citizens.
“Public outreach programs provide an indispensable platform for reviewing developmental requirements, identifying gaps in service delivery, and ensuring that people’s concerns receive the administration’s undivided attention,” the Minister remarked, urging inter-departmental coordination to improve public service mechanisms.
The Public Darbar is a continuation of the Minister’s sustained public outreach initiative across his Udhampur-Doda-Kathua parliamentary constituency, designed to bridge the gap between the electorate and the government.
In addition to addressing public grievances, Dr. Singh’s visit to the mountainous district included a major scientific milestone. Earlier in the day, the Union Minister officially inaugurated India’s 183rd Seismological Observatory in Kishtwar. The new facility, located in a high-seismic zone, is expected to be a crucial addition to the national seismological network, significantly strengthening real-time scientific monitoring and disaster preparedness across the Himalayan region and the Kashmir Valley.
