JAMMU, October 7, 2026 – In a major success against cross-border narco-terrorism, the Jammu Police have successfully busted a suspected Pakistan-linked drug and arms smuggling racket. The operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals, including a key forward link traced to Punjab, and the recovery of illicit narcotics and weaponry.
The breakthrough occurred on October 3 when police apprehended two residents, identified as Rahul and Ajay, from the border belt of Arnia in Jammu district. According to Arnia Police Station SHO Darshan Singh, the arrested individuals had allegedly received the illegal consignment via a drone sent from across the International Border.
During the arrests, the police made significant recoveries. From Rahul’s possession, authorities seized 264 grams of a heroin-like substance (including packing material), one silver-colored Beretta pistol, and two magazines. Meanwhile, 276 grams of heroin, two magazines, and four live rounds of ammunition were recovered from Ajay.
Following these initial arrests, further intensive interrogation and investigation led the Jammu Police to trace the syndicate’s wider distribution network. Acting on specific leads, police successfully arrested an individual identified as Jaganpreet Randhawa, alias Jaggi, from Punjab. Randhawa was apprehended on the suspicion of being the primary forward link responsible for receiving and distributing the drone-dropped narcotics further inland. Authorities have stated that the investigation remains active and is underway to completely uncover and dismantle the entire cross-border nexus.
