The incident occurred along the Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway amidst heavy rainfall. According to eyewitnesses, the minibus, traveling from Domana toward Jammu, lost control on the slippery road and flipped over, triggering panic among the occupants. Some passengers alleged that the driver was speeding despite the wet road conditions, leading to the loss of balance.
Following the accident, local residents rushed to the scene and initiated a rescue operation, quickly alerting the authorities. A team from the Domana Police Station arrived promptly to assist. The injured were transported via ambulances and civilian vehicles to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Jammu.
