BJP National Vice President Ram Madhav Visits Jammu Amid Deepening Political Crisis in NC

JAMMU, November 3, 2026 – Amidst massive political churning in Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President Ram Madhav arrived in Jammu today for a crucial day-long visit. While the party maintains that the visit is strictly for organizational purposes, its timing has raised eyebrows across the regional political spectrum.

According to J&K BJP Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi, Madhav’s itinerary includes high-level organizational meetings with the state leadership and a press conference scheduled at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar. Sethi clarified that the visit is part of a nationwide routine to address “SIR-related” organizational activities and denied any immediate political maneuvering.

“Tomorrow’s visit is not related to anything like government formation or some political equations. There is nothing like that. It is a routine organizational activity,” Sethi asserted ahead of the visit.

However, the political backdrop of Madhav’s arrival is impossible to ignore. His visit to the winter capital coincides exactly with a massive political earthquake unfolding in Srinagar, where influential Shia leader and Srinagar Lok Sabha MP, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, announced his resignation from the ruling National Conference (NC) and the Parliament.

Addressing the speculations regarding the deepening rift within the Omar Abdullah-led NC, Sethi maintained a cautious stance. “We are keenly watching what is happening in the National Conference. Presently, there is no decision on making any move in this direction by the BJP,” he stated, adding that such developments are not part of today’s organizational agenda.

Ram Madhav’s visits to Jammu and Kashmir always carry significant political weight. A seasoned strategist, Madhav was the principal architect behind the historic 2015 BJP-PDP coalition government, formulating the “Agenda of Alliance” alongside former Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu. He also recently served as the BJP’s election in-charge for the 2024 J&K Assembly elections before being elevated to the post of national vice president earlier this year.

As the National Conference grapples with high-profile internal rebellions, political observers are closely monitoring Madhav’s engagements in Jammu for any signs of the BJP’s future strategic roadmap in the Union Territory.
