NEW DELHI, October 23, 2026 – Intensifying its crackdown on financial crimes in the real estate sector, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted widespread searches targeting two National Capital Region (NCR)-based real estate companies. The raids are part of an ongoing money laundering investigation linked to a major “fraudulent” NRI housing loan scam.
According to agency officials, synchronized searches were carried out at a minimum of 13 locations spanning across Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh. The central agency’s probe specifically focuses on the two NCR-based real estate firms and several associated individuals who allegedly orchestrated a complex scheme to obtain massive housing loans.
The ED suspects that these entities procured fraudulent loans designated for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) by using extensively forged documents and fabricated financial credentials. The operation aims to unearth the money trail and seize incriminating evidence related to the laundering of these illicitly obtained funds.
Further details regarding the exact quantum of the fraud and the specific identities of the real estate companies are awaited as the investigation progresses.
