Srinagar – November 7: Opening vast employment avenues for the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) has officially notified a massive recruitment drive to fill 1,356 vacancies across two key frontline cadres: Probationary Officers (POs) and Banking Associates (BAs).
According to two comprehensive recruitment notifications issued by the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters in Srinagar, the intake comprises 323 vacancies for Probationary Officers and 1,033 positions for Banking Associates. The online application window opens on November 7 and remains active until November 26, 2026. The prestigious competitive examination will be administered independently by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).
The recruitment has been strictly earmarked for permanent domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir, mandating the submission of a valid J&K Domicile Certificate during document verification. In a key structural condition aimed at localized stability, selected candidates must mandatorily complete a minimum service tenure of five years in their initially allotted geographic zone, with no inter-zonal transfers permitted during this initial period.
Applicants for both roles must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The prescribed age criterion is fixed between 20 and 30 years as of January 1, 2026, with statutory age relaxations provided for reserved categories under government rules. In an incentive for institutional trainees, candidates who have successfully concluded apprenticeship training with J&K Bank will be entitled to an additional one-year age relaxation alongside a 2.5 percent bonus mark allocation on their total aggregate in the Banking Associate exam.
The selection architecture for Probationary Officers follows a rigorous three-tiered framework comprising a Preliminary online test, a Mains written examination, and a personal interview. Shortlisting will advance candidates at a 10:1 ratio for the Mains stage, and 3:1 for the interview round. For Banking Associates, selection will be based strictly on merit in a single-stage online IBPS written examination.
Statutory reservations will be implemented under the amended Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Rules, 2005, and provisions enacted under S.O. 176 (March 15, 2024), covering SC, ST, OBC, RBA, EWS, horizontal PwD quotas, and ex-servicemen provisions. Aspiring candidates can submit their applications online through the Careers section of the Bank’s portal at jkb.bank.in.
